How often should my child have digital x-rays?
Not every visit requires an x-ray, but we typically recommend them every 12–18 months. Regular imaging helps us track tooth development and detect changes early.
Your child may need more frequent x-rays if:
- There’s a history of cavities or gum disease
- Their permanent teeth are still shifting into place
- We need to confirm there’s enough room for incoming teeth
- Orthodontic treatment (braces or aligners) is being considered
