At what age should my child first visit the dentist?

It’s recommended that your child visits the dentist by their first birthday or within six months after their first tooth appears. Early visits help prevent cavities and teach good oral hygiene habits from a young age.

How often should my child visit the dentist?

We recommend scheduling check-ups every six months. Regular visits allow us to monitor your child’s oral health and catch potential issues early.

What should I do to prepare my child for their first dental visit?

Talk positively about the dentist and explain that the dentist will help keep their teeth strong and healthy. Reading books or watching videos about dental visits can also be very helpful.

What types of treatments do you provide?

Does my child need dental x-rays?

How do you handle children with dental anxiety?

We create a friendly, welcoming environment and use techniques like Tell-Show-Do, where we explain and show each tool and step before proceeding. Sedation options are also available to ensure a calm, pain-free experience.

What if my child has special needs?

Our team is trained to provide dental care to children with a variety of special needs. We work closely with parents to create a care plan that is comfortable and effective for each child.

How can I help prevent cavities at home?

Good oral hygiene includes brushing your child’s teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, limiting sugary snacks and drinks, and ensuring they drink plenty of water throughout the day.

What are dental sealants and does my child need them?

Dental sealants are a protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. They prevent food and bacteria from getting stuck in the grooves of the teeth, significantly reducing the risk of cavities. We recommend sealants for most children, as they provide a safe and effective barrier against tooth decay.

What should I do if my child knocks out a tooth?

For a permanent tooth, try to place it back in the socket without touching the root and come to us immediately. If that’s not possible, keep the tooth moist in milk and bring your child and the tooth to our office right away. For a baby tooth, do not try to reinsert it, but contact us as soon as possible for advice.
